The Final Kiddy Class

My last Phase 1 class went surprisingly well considering the pain in my right knee carried over from Saturday and Sunday night soccer.  I just seem to have an easier time accepting pain from soccer than pain from Cultfit. Oh well, I got through the fourth class and am now apparently ready to work out with the big boys and girls now!

I can't even remember the name of the first part of my work out but after doing the "regular" crossfit warm-up I did 15 minutes maximum reps:
  • 5 pull ups using the gymnastic rings... legs stretched out... butt tucked in... not sure what they are called but they weren't that bad.
  • 10 push-ups
  • 15 squats
I got through 5 reps - only because I can't seem to do a push up for the life of me.  Goes to show just how out of shape I am.

The most memorable part of my evening was my attempt at a cold bath when I got home. No ice just cold water. It took me 5 minutes and three attempts to get in and I could only get in up to the waist, I was screaming the entire time while my loving husband stood at the door laughing hysterically.  For some reason my memory of the ice bath I took in Ireland during the Gaelic football tournament has been tampered with... I didn't remember it being that bad and there was ice in that tub.  The best part is when your heart feels like it may just stop beating... that is when I climbed my way out of the tub... which I might add took longer than it took for me to finish 10 push-ups and just extended the painful experience of being in a freezing cold tub!
But I digress...

While I am happy to be joining my friends in the regular classes I am also a tad bit nervous.

I will just have to try and see... I know rock climbing on Thursday is going to hurt ;0)

Conflicted

Third class: sanity vs burpees

Today's circuit:
15 jumping pull-ups
10 burpees
15 sumo deadlift something or other!

4 2/3 sets

Sorry if I screw up all of the names, just know that my muscles will never forget the pain.
One phase 1 class left to go and my opinion of Crossfit has changed more times than I can track. I like the workouts while I am in it but I can't handle feeling incapacitated afterwards. I have so much work to do and no will to do it. This is my dilemma people. Feel free to send me the answer!

Day two: feel the burn!

Second day at Crossfit has me wishing I kept my mouth shut about wanting to get back into shape. Yet I don't feel in shape, I feel broken. The worst part is that it's only going to get worse... And even worse I am staring to whine a lot and that's really not my style!!!

Okay, so 2nd phase 1 class and I managed:

3 1/2 rounds of 10 dead lifts, 5 push-ups, and 20 boxjumps. 15 minutes YOWZA!

Definitely feel the burn but I think a day off is necessary at this stage.
No point going tomorrow if I can't move, right!

Until next time ;0)

Crossfit: birthday gift or torture chamber

Well, my first phase one class was more than just a workout, it was a wake up call.

The rowing machine was fun for about 5 minutes (You were right Partna) and the sqwats, well, those were not fun at all. The straight press was not so bad and i thought i was doing great until he asked me to put it all together!

Not sure how I did compared to most but I managed 2 1/2 rounds of 400m, 20 sqwats & 15 straight presses in 15 minutes. Felt good since most Monday's at 4:15 I'm lying on the couch with Diesel!!!

First time ever being a member of a gym, so far so good. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.

Actually, it's a good day for firsts... First time blogging as well!

See you tomorrow Crossfit, I'm a sucker for pain ;0,
